Mongolians Learn to Knit Socks.

Yesterday, five women from Mongolia came to Stitches & Scones to learn how to knit socks. Through an interpreter, Lin spent several hours helping them turn the heel and improve their knitting skills. The daughters were here for heart surgery and were accompanied by their mothers and the interpreter. All of them are knitters, and we predict they will teach others to knit socks back in Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia. What a rewarding experience!

Hot Damn!

Are you in the hunt for a fast knitting project for a graduation or Mother's day gift? Search no more. We have your answer in the form of the Hot Damn! blanket. This afghan is knitted using 3 to 6 yarns at once on large needles. Many knitters are getting them done in a weekend! The pattern is available free at the store and we put together some sample yarn combinations for your enjoyment.

Purdue colors, IU colors, and a baby one are shown in these illustrations but the sky is the limit. Start with some of your stash and have fun going around the store to pick out additional yarns. We have lots of stuff in clearance that would be perfect!
